The history of our beautiful city on the Danube has always been closely linked to the Ehingen brewers and the local brewing industry. In the late 19th century, more than 20 active breweries were already counted in Ehingen. This tradition is still actively practiced and brought to life today. You can experience this for yourself at the Hotel Adler in Ehingen. In our brewery, you can enjoy delicious local beer specialties and follow in the footsteps of the old master brewers.

In our Goldener Adler brewery in the unique lifestyle inn Paulas Alb – located in the heart of Ehingen's old town – we bring the centuries-old brewing tradition and beer culture back to life. In 1899, the first Ehingen draft wheat beer was brewed in the then Golden Eagle brewery. Led by the fifth generation, we are reviving the old brewing heart and bringing the first Ehingen draft wheat beer back to life in Paulas Alb, naturally under the name "Goldener Adler".

For a long time, the city of Ehingen has attracted beer lovers from Germany and all over the world to the beautiful Swabian Jura. Here, visitors enjoy historically grown breweries and a diverse range of different beers. Or they enjoy the fresh air on a walk along the 14 km long beer hiking trail, which was voted one of the 30 most beautiful hiking trails in Germany in 2010. The Ehingen brewer Walter Wender was even mentioned in the city's history as early as 1384. Another milestone was reached in 1875, when the city of Ehingen was awarded the gold medal for its hop quality at the Tettnang Hop Exhibition. In 1877, another gold award followed in Nuremberg. Since winning the "Genießerland Baden-Württemberg Tourist Idea Competition" in 2009, the city has also called itself a beer culture city and has thus made a name for itself nationwide.
